Carousel at night
Sunday 9th October 2011

Figure 3: Picture taken by Kelly Claire Hoffer, on July 1, 2009.

This Photo is a great example of how a Galloper would look at night, the colours are sharp and work well together in the low light. When i come to experiment with lighting a red and yellow combination will be tested.

Fairground Steam Gallopers and Cakewalk Organs at Cromford Rally 2011

Video 1: Steam Gallopers at Cromford 2011

I found this video on you-tube depicting a steam powered Galloper in action. I needed to watch this video too see how the mechanics of the ride worked and how it looks when it is in use. I found the music to be contrasting to the ride. Whilst in this environment the music gave off a pleasant vibe, complimenting the riders experience. I have a feeling that if this music was played in a dark, eerie warehouse with no one around but the player it would be extremely creepy. When i have my Galloper model finished and imported into UDK i will see how this music works with the overall feel of the level.

Video 2: 73 Key Verbeeck Fair Organ at Cromford 2011.

This video shows the 73 Key Verbeeck Fair Organ in all its beauty. The detail in the decoration is incredible. When i come to model the organ for my Gallopers i will use this as a structural reference. Like i described in the paragraph above this music would also be extremely creepy played in a dark lonely place.

Image Depicting Mr Billy Ashley's Three-abreast 'Galloping Horses'

Figure 11: Mr Billy Ashley's Three-abreast 'Galloping Horses'

The Illustration was drawn by David Braithwaite and depicts Mr Billy Ashley's
Three-abreast 'Galloping Horses'. The original frame was built by Thomas Walker of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. 1895. I like this image as it shows clearly the shapes and structures of a Galloper. This will help me when it comes to making my 3D model.
